1) There is lots of wickedness, and violence, all around us in this world.
2) It often looks like the violent ones, gets away with their destructive ways unpunished.
3) Hold fast to righteousness, do not let it go.
4) Seek wisdom, and understanding.
I continued reading in Genesis (chapters 31-35). My takeaway will come from Chapter 31, though, when Jacob finally clears the air with his father in-law [Laban]. I knew the story already, but this time my perspective honed in on how dirty Laban actually did Jacob for 20 YEARS. All the while, Jacob kept his faith and focus, and never spoke on it until AFTER the Spirit told him to move.
Sometimes I think that we miss out on blessings because we feel entitled to “speak on it” (whatever “IT” is) rather than working on keeping our faith and our focus aligned with each other, and letting God work “IT” out for our good. Jacob accumulated greatly during his 20-YEAR ‘oppression’…not by his own hand…but by how God kept giving the increase to his efforts AFTER being allowed to show up on his behalf.
My takeaway: Learn to be quiet long enough to let God have the room He desires to show up on YOUR behalf.
