In 1 Samuel 8, I learned that we should be careful what we ask for. The Israelites wanted a king like other cities had. Samuel warned them of how the kings would treat them, and yet they wanted a king anyway. God protects us not only from Satan, but from ourselves, if we allow him to. Sometimes God grants us what we ask for and then we realize it wasn’t what we thought it would be. Thank you God for protecting me from myself and for not granting me some of the things I think are for me, but if it’s your will, give to me what YOU know I need.
