God is good
God is very specific. There is no debate in what he desires of us.
1) God is about law, and order.
2) The Lord is a jealous God.
3) Men are to take care of the women, and children.
4) God is first in everything.
5) God wants us to be honest.
Moses was on the mount for 40 days & 40 nights.
Yes! Moses had a good relationship with God and always seeking His guidance.
I continued my study via Leviticus 21-22. This was a continuation of God’s instructions to Aaron and his sons regarding the priesthood, what is considered clean and unclean, acceptable offerings, etc. The mantra following every concluded thought still being: I am the Lord.
My takeaway: It’s God’s way or no way. God was so very carful to be specific in what He would and would not accept as acceptable people [priests]–detailing the standards of what their lineage, lifestyle, and loyalty to The Law should be–in order to offer acceptable sacrifices to Him. And, He eradicated any possibility of negotiation or manipulation of His Law by man, by ending each thought with the reminder: I am the Lord. So, my mind jumped to the modern-day “priests” that we see. IF they were still to be included as our source for offering our worship and praises to God–which I know the Bible will speak on when I get to the New Testament–then modern-day “priests” all miss the mark according to God’s standards set here in the Old Testament…and He is the Lord.
If individuals participating in religious groups still implementing priests would simply open their Bibles to Leviticus and review God’s standards of the priesthood for themselves, they would recognize how far from God’s standards mankind has strayed.
